Forget Me Not Cocktail
Raising funds and awareness for Alzheimer's and Dementia
Forget Me Not's inaugural event, the FMN Cocktail, was a fabulous success. Held on 25 September 2010, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Circular Quay, Sydney, we raised over $26,000 for the Hazel Hawke Alzheimer's Research and Care Fund. We would like to thank everyone who attended - you looked fabulous, learned from Claire, laughed with Denise, were moved by Malcolm, listened to Jen and danced to DJ Walkie Talkie. Forget Me Not is also grateful for the expressions of support and concern about dementia and Alzheimer's, and your stories about loved ones living with this disease.
The winner of our raffle has been contacted and she was very very excited to win this fabulous prize, thanks to Cathay Pacific. Photos from the event have been made available online for purchase from Wheeler Studios. All monies will be donated to FMN.
Let us remind you again…

FMN Cocktail - an unforgettable evening
You are invited to enjoy an evening to share the remembering . Upon arrival, you will be greeted with the signature FMN Cocktail, designed for Forget Me Not by award winning mixologist Taka Shino. After revelling in the breathtaking view from the Harbour Terrace, you will be treated to gourmet cuisine and beverages from Culinary Edge.
Jen Cloher, an ARIA award winning Australian artist, is the headline act for the evening. Jen will be playing songs from her recently released album, Hidden Hands. This album was written whilst Jen was caring for her mother, who is currently living with Alzheimer’s.
Denise Scott will keep the night bubbling along with laughter as the MC. Denise is one of Australia's most loved stand up comedy acts and media personalities, regularly appearing on shows such as Spicks & Specks and Good News Week, as well as touring her own stand up shows.
You will also see short films from a talented new artist & filmmaker, Emily Dean. Emily is currently a student at the California Institute of the Arts, having recently graduated from the Australian Film & Television School. Her first stop-motion animated film, "The Wall", was shortlisted in the 2010 Tropfest competition.
DJ Walkie Talkie will provide dance tunes to get everyone up and dancing at the end of the night. DJ Walkie Talkie is the main resident DJ for Australia’s biggest weekly indie music event, MUM @ World Bar. He has played gigs such as Big Day Out and internationally as far abroad as Sweden. DJ Walkie Talkie has a personal connection to Forget Me Not, with three of his grandparent’s having dementia or Alzheimer’s.
The after party will be held at The Argyle, The Rocks, with guest list entry for all FMN Cocktail ticket holders.
All funds raised from the FMN Cocktail will be donated to the Hazel Hawke Alzheimer’s Research and Care Fund, through Alzheimer’s Australia.
There will also be a chance to share your story and hear from others about young peoples' experiences with dementia or Alzheimer's.
Forget Me Not would like to thank our generous sponsors for the evening, including:
